Restaurant Review of Epicure “One With Exceptional Taste In Good Food And Drink,” Wildwood, NJ

If you’re like me every weekend in the summertime you are headed down to the shore, Friday night to Sunday night. A lot of your food option while at a vacation spot especially North Wildwood, NJ consists of pizza, fries, take-out, etc. Nothing that is going to make you feel energized, happy or comfortable to relax. I know the salt air and long days in the sun give me a craving for junk food.

Since I have been on vacation for a week now I figured I would take some time to give my review of an awesome healthy and delicious restaurant to try in Wildwood, NJ, which we just discovered this morning.

As Brooke and I took a morning stroll in Wildwood today we decided to get food for the beach. We had already eaten a Romeo’s Pizzeria chicken finger platter and sampler platter and an order of fries the night before so something healthy was needed.

During our 30 block walk we stopped at 2 sandwich shops that were closed and another all American fried food stand. So to Wawa it was. As were walking down New Jersey Avenue we came across this adorable little place, decorated in such an eclectic manner that you couldn't just walk past it. The sign read, “Epicure daily made fresh food, WE DELIEVER TO THE BEACH.” We were sold! The place is filled with tables and hot pink chairs and booths, all different type of artwork lining the walls, chalkboard boards of the menu, and a window to place your orders. The restaurant is owned by two long time friends of 46 years. Epicure was originally in Cape May, NJ but they moved over to Wildwood a few years back.

They have many different healthy and delicious things to pick from. Ranging from salads, sandwiches, chili, hummus, juices, burgers, you name it. The one woman even told us that she could make whatever we wanted. It was very reasonably priced for the quality of food. Two green juices, one veggie burger and one veggie salad cost $27 dollars, which is cheap for a shore town.

We both ordered a green juice with mango; it was out of this world delicious! I love juices especially one that is smooth in texture. I ordered a veggie burger and Brooke had a veggie salad. The ladies wrap our food and were on our way to the beach, after stopping at Sand Jam to get my hubby something for his 33rd birthday!!!

My veggie burger was brown rice oats, shredded vegetable patties on romaine lettuce with tomatoes and cucumbers, and topped with a cream garlic dressing and sprouts in a pita pocket. This also came with hummus, chips and fruit. It wasn't messy and was so fresh. Brooke’s veggie salad was crisp romaine lettuce shredded red cabbage, carrots, radishes, tomatoes and cucumbers with herbal vinaigrette, along with the same sides as my burger. She said it was amazing. We have decided to go back for dinner tonight!

Over all Epicure is by far the best place to eat healthy, beautiful, and affordable food in North Wildwood, NJ. I highly recommend trying this at least once. I know I will be visiting them every weekend for the rest of the summer!

Thanks Epicure for a delicious meal!
