What's in my Hospital Bag?
As a First Time Mom (FTM) packing my hospital bag is not only stressful but it's so damn confusing. I have researched numerous blogs, Pinterest and asked friends. Everything I find is relatively similar so I’ve decided to go with my gut. Since I have never had a baby I am not sure how I will feel after. Will I have a vaginal birth or a C-section? Will I want yoga pants or lose fitting pajama pants? Do I need nursing tops or a nursing bra? All of these thoughts have me going crazy.
The list below are for a Mommy Bag, Baby Bag and Daddy Bag. Well Mommy and Baby will share one bag for space reasons. During our child birth class the nurse recommended to bring two (2) bags; one for labor/delivery and a second for recovery. They recommend this because the labor/delivery rooms are smaller and having numerous bags can take up a lot of space. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to divide what I would bring because I don’t know what I will want or need during these times. So I am bringing one bag, well maybe two!

Baby Bag
We were told we only need to bring a going home outfit and car seat, the hospital will provide everything else. As a FTM I am going to bring more than that. What if the baby get cold or spits up on the way home!
Onies (2) - Short sleeve in newborn and 3 months. This is in case it is super cold and he needs an extra layer going home. The sizes are in case he doesn’t fit in newborn!
Sleeper (2) - I am going to use this as his going home outfit. He will be born in the beginning of March so it will be cold. And as I think about it I wouldn’t want to be in a fancy outfit coming home after the long journey of birth.
Hat (3) - I was gifted a handmade hat which I will bring and then 2 more for matching outfit.
Mittens and socks - (1) pair each
Swaddle blanket (1)
Heavier blanket - (1) for going home - Pottery Barn Kids
Bib
Burp Cloth
Car seat - Nuna Pipa Lite - it's only 5.3 pounds!
Diapers / Wipes - I will bring (1) newborn and (1) size 1 along with a small pack of wipes. We are using Pampers sensitive.
Daddy Bag
My husband will pack his own stuff because I’m sure he will do this last minute but I will provide him a list just in case!

Shorts
T-shirt
Under shirt
Boxers
Socks
Sweat shirt

After he is born I will update you all on things that I definitely needed, things I didn’t need and things I may have forgotten!
Good luck to all you first time moms out there! Remember being overdressed is always better than being underdressed!
Xoxo,
Kristin
